My Story...
As any good story, mine begins right at home. Growing up with a big family, my life was blessed in many ways. From my parents, I gained a rich education in kindness, spirituality, determination and ambition.
That foundation followed me to Leeds University, where, after studying abroad and exploring much of China and the Far East, I graduated with no clear path of which profession to follow.
So instead, I followed my love of magazines and won a graduate place at Vogue House. In 1998 I stepped into the advertising department, and suddenly became a part of all those aspirational titles I piled next to my bed as a teenager.
The next 8 years were spent in the media industry. There were many aspects of my profession I relished. I excelled at sales, being good at networking and winning business. And yet something felt missing. My love of fun, fashion, and wild parties was fulfilled, and yet my soul was not fed.
Six years in I began to experience stress and anxiety as my body gave me signs that this destructive lifestyle did not fit me.
The stress and anxiety worsened as I continued on this carousel of weekend clubbing and the demands of being seen to entertain clients and socialise with work colleagues. I was burning the candles at both ends, training at 6am with my PT and out at a party or dinner until the early hours.
From the outside I had everything going for me. I bought a flat in central London, was well respected in the company and good at my job. I had a boyfriend, a busy social life and an amazing family.
And yet inside I was unwell. Panic attacks, IBS, bouts of cystitis. Then one day I looked in the glass window of a yoga class at my health club, sparking memories of the practice my stepmother had taught me as a child. The next week, instead of the fast-paced spinning class, I took myself to a yoga class and the seed was planted.
For the first time, I felt a peace I had not experienced before.
I can now see my soul was calling me back. I was living in this empty, shallow world where my emotions and soul were not being nourished and it took me being at my breaking point to stop the way I was splitting myself.
Reflecting back, my mission in the last 20 years has been teaching beautiful human beings to relax.
This is the transformation I went through. I healed my stress, anxiety and chronic symptoms to live relaxed and well. I hold a mission for the next 5 years to touch the lives of 10 million women around the world.
I’ve learned what it takes to conquer stress and overwhelm, and I want to help you do the same. I can’t wait to see how you will rock this world!
